HR POLICY ADVISOR

 

Purpose:

The role is responsible for policy development and maintaining policy communications, improving policies and related processes as needed based on new laws and requirements and business requests. The incumbent is the recipient of the tough complex policy issues and questions and is required to stay current with all employment legislations and then effect change in support of business objectives. This role also serves as a resource to location and business staff with respect to policy matters helping develop the less experienced policy resources in the business, including the consistent of policies application across the businesses and functions. Additionally, this role may be required to effectively deal with substantial change and project management items that may potentially impact all employees. The role also has key accountabilities related to pension for staff.

 

Accountabilities:

  • Providing policy guidance and support
  • Reviewing policies, making recommendations for change, and consulting with the business on changes and implementation
  • Providing overall administration of programs and policies
  • Providing support for projects in other areas of Pension and Benefit in addition to Policy.
  • The role will also communicate and implement new policies and revised policies and ensure policies driven by legislation/governmental agencies are developed and implemented in the business. The successful candidate will also liaise with Industrial Relations, Legal, HRitB, etc. on policy and pension related activities.

  • Ability to prioritize and deliver variety of parallel projects, provide results under time restraints
  • Knowledge of labor and employment laws
  • Ability to deal with confidential information and implement change initiatives
  • Strong team player and able to be effective and demonstrate independent capability and the capacity to get things done
